HostArmada Review 2022 – How Fast and Reliable Is This Web Hosting Platform?
Whether it’s for business or personal use, everybody seems to need a website these days. Here’s the good news: Thanks to all the advances in the web design industry, building a website has never been easier.
Even better, there are web hosting solutions that handle all of the backend operations so you don’t even have to be a tech genius to run a full-fledged e-commerce site.
HostArmada is one of those web hosting platforms.
In this HostArmada review, we’ll show you everything this web hosting service has to offer including its various features and hosting plans.
What is HostArmada?
HostArmada is a web hosting service provider that helps individuals and businesses launch their websites. HostArmada hosting includes freebies: SSL, domain, transfer, and optimization — which makes it a great value.
HostArmada Products
HostArmada primarily focuses on web hosting services — and there are plenty to choose from.
These plans are ideal for those who want to launch simple websites. The “shared” part of the hosting plan refers to the fact that you’ll be sharing hosting servers with other users.
While that is not ideal for a website that draws too much traffic or uses a ton of resources, it’s perfectly fine for individuals and businesses that simply want web pages that their visitors can go to.
It’s a great hosting solution for users who estimate their site traffic to fall between 30,000 and 120,000 per month. Plans under Shared and WordPress Hosting are popular with bloggers and small businesses or startups.
There are three plans under this product category:
- Start Dock ($2.99/month billed triennially) — 1 website, 15 GB of storage, 2 CPU cores, 2 GB of RAM
- Web Warp ($4.49/month billed triennially) — Unlimited websites, 30 GB of storage, 4 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM
- Speed Reaper ($5.39/month billed triennially) — Unlimited websites, 40 GB of storage, 6 CPU cores, 6 GB of RAM
All the plans mentioned have flexible billing options. You can pay every 1, 12, 24, or 36 months. The longer the commitment, the more you’ll end up saving.

Reseller Hosting
Reseller Hosting is a new addition to HostArmada’s product category lineup. As the name implies, this category is open to agencies or freelance marketers who want to use HostArmada to host their client’s websites.
This is not the typical use case for people who only want to build one website for business or personal use. But if you’re looking into starting your own marketing agency, this is the category you should be looking into.
The idea is for you to pay HostArmada a fee for maintaining the backend of all the websites you’ll be adding. You, on the other hand, can find clients who need web hosting and set whatever price you see fit.
HostArmada will not care what price you set for your clients nor do you have to pay any additional fees. You only have to pay for the plan you signed up for.
There are four plans under the Reseller Hosting category:
- Sitedust ($8.99/month) — 40 GB of storage, 50 cPanel accounts, 1.5 TB of bandwidth
- Protoseller ($14.99/month) — 80 GB of storage, 100 cPanel accounts, 3 TB of bandwidth
- Web Giant ($17.99/month) — 100 GB of storage, 120 cPanel accounts, 4.5 TB of bandwidth
- Site Nova ($20.99/month) — 120 GB of storage, 140 cPanel accounts, 6 TB of bandwidth
You can add as many websites as you wish no matter which plan you select.

Virtual Servers (VPS)
Virtual servers or VPS hosting addresses the gap between Shared Hosting and Dedicated Hosting. It’s the middle ground where you get to experience perks from both categories.
Just like in Shared Hosting, you’re sharing resources like RAM and storage with other users — which is the reason why it’s less expensive than using a dedicated server. However, VPS mimics a dedicated server. That means you’re getting your fair share of resources.
Here’s one way of looking at it:
Imagine your resources in the form of cake. With shared hosting, all the users you share servers with will grab as much of the cake as they see fit. While HostArmada will do its best to make sure everyone gets their fair share, someone will always end up getting more.
That’s fine if you don’t need to eat that much. But if you end up partnered with a user that tends to consume a lot of resources, there might not be enough for you to go on.
But with VPS hosting, the cake gets split equally among users. So while all of you are hosted within the same environment, you’re still getting access to resources that are exclusively yours.
If your e-commerce site is starting to gain traction and a shared hosting solution is no longer working for you, we recommend that you switch to a virtual server.
There are four plans under this category:
- Web Shuttle ($41.21/month) — 50 GB of storage, 1 CPU core, 2 GB RAM, 2 TB bandwidth
- Web Voyager ($48.71/month) — 80 GB of storage, 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 4 TB bandwidth
- Web Raider ($63.71/month) — 160 GB of storage, 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 5 TB bandwidth
- Site Carrier ($101.21/month) — 320 GB of storage, 6 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, 8 TB bandwidth
There’s no limit to how many websites you can add under all plans.

Dedicated CPU
The Dedicated CPU category is for those who want and need the best of the best. Here you don’t have to share resources with anyone. And exactly because you’re not sharing a server with anyone else, you have more flexibility when it comes to how you want to manage your servers.
For instance, all dedicated CPU servers make use of RAID 10 configuration. That means all servers are utilized for redundancy and read/write speed.
This category also gives you access to more storage space.
There are three plans under this category:
- Lift Off ($111.75/month) — 160 GB of storage, 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 5 TB bandwidth
- Low Orbit ($156.75/month) — 320 GB of storage, 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, 6 TB bandwidth
- High Orbit ($246.75/month) — 640 GB of storage, 16 CPU cores, 32 GB RAM, 7 TB bandwidth
Again, there’s no limit to how many sites you can add under any of these plans.

Domain Name Registration
All plans come with free domain registration. But should you need to add more, then you don’t need to go very far.
HostArmada conveniently offers domain name registration. And it offers plenty of domain name extensions too. So you’re really spoiled for options.
Every domain name registration comes with DNS management, domain forwarding, and subdomain management.
Opensource and Development Hosting
HostArmada also has two niche hosting solutions. While these do not apply to most situations, it’s nice to know that they’re here just in case.
The Opensource Hosting solution is the same as Shared Hosting. It’s just that Opensource is dedicated to developers that need an open-source environment for programming. You can also opt to use dedicated servers for this purpose.
Development Hosting includes plans that are specifically enhanced with tools and features that ease the process of application development for users. This is more for people that are developing applications.
What Else Does HostArmada Offer?
We already mentioned that HostArmada plans come with a free domain name registration. But there are other things that are worth noting here.
Some plans include a free website migration service. That basically means you get a free website transfer — something other web hosting platforms charge extra for.
You also get access to a fantastic customer support team. You can contact HostArmada by filing a ticket, starting a live chat, phoning in, or sending an email. HostArmada claims that its customer support has the lowest response times.
Here are other HostArmada features worth mentioning:
- Cloud-based servers
- Fully managed cPanel
- 24/7/365 customer support
- 99.9% uptime
- Malware scan and removal
- Free SSL
There are also free educational resources such as a guide on creating a WordPress site and how to use HostArmada’s website builder tool.
The HostArmada Experience
HostArmada has a clean user interface which is good news for those that are very particular about the layout they want.
On the main dashboard, you’ll find quick access to My Services, Domains, and Invoices.
The sidebar will help you navigate through the rest of HostArmada. Under My Account, you can manage information about your account, credit card, privacy settings, and password.
Under Support, you can create a ticket should you ever run into any issue. Clicking Knowledge Base will bring up a list of resources you can access to better understand the inner workings of HostArmada.
You’ll also find buttons that will show any email you receive from HostArmada as well as a notification panel.
HostArmada vs Competitors
HostArmada isn’t the only web hosting provider out there. So how does it fare against its competitors?
Let’s compare HostArmada’s WordPress hosting plans with its competitors’ versions of it.
HostArmada vs SiteGround
SiteGrounds most affordable WordPress hosting plan, StartUp, is $3.99/month. Compare that to HostArmada’s Start Dock which is only $2.99/month and it’s easy to see which web host will help you save more.
Keep in mind that HostArmada’s regular price is still cheaper at $9.95/month versus SiteGround’s $14.99/month.
HostArmada vs BlueHost
Let’s move on to BlueHost. Its Basic WordPress plan is $4.95/month if you sign up for 36 months. HostArmada’s counterpart is still cheaper at $2.99/month also at 36 months.
But to be fair, BlueHost’s Basic plan comes with 50 GB of space whereas HostArmada only comes with 15 GB.
HostArmada vs Hostinger
Hostinger’s Single WordPress plan is more affordable than HostArmada at only $1.99/month. However, we should point out that this plan does not include a free domain. That means it’s an additional cost that you’d have to worry about.
As mentioned earlier, HostArmada plans come with a free domain.
HostArmada Affiliate Program
For those interested, HostArmada has an affiliate program that’s actually a great deal. The affiliate sign-up is free and you get a $10 starting bonus. Payouts are given monthly.
Even better, those who manage to close a sale can get up to $200.
Even if you only manage to get one sale, you’d still get at least $50 depending on what type of hosting the customer selected.
If you’re looking for a side hustle, HostArmada is definitely worth a look.
HostArmada Review: Pros and Cons
HostArmada is one of the best in the web hosting industry. But it’s far from being perfect. Here’s a list of its pros and cons to help you decide if this is the right platform for you.
Pros
- Cloud-based servers mean you’re getting the best site performance
- Customer service is available at all times
- Includes free daily backups
Cons
- Limited storage capacity compared to competitors
- No Windows shared hosting (for those who might need it)
HostArmada: Good for Beginners?
Absolutely. If you’re launching a site for the first time, we highly suggest that you try any of the Shared Hosting plans. They’ll be more than enough to get you off the ground. Anything more than these would be excessive since you still don’t know how much traffic you’ll get once your site goes live.
You can always upgrade to a higher plan should you need to.
Start a Site for Less Than $5/Month
With HostArmada, your dream of starting a WordPress site at a reasonable price is only a few clicks away.
Here’s a beginner-friendly, step-by-step guide on how to create a WordPress site.
And if you want to start a site for under $5/month, make sure you pick the Start Dock plan.
Check out Start Dock WordPress Hosting plan.
Option 1: Install WordPress via cPanel
After you sign up for a HostArmada WordPress Hosting plan, head on over to the dashboard and click the cPanel button.
This will open the cPanel. You’ll probably have to log in using your HostArmada credentials.
Once you’ve successfully logged in, go to Software > Softaculous Apps Installer.
Clicking the Softaculous Apps Installer will bring up Top Scripts. WordPress should be one of the top entries. Click Install.
You’ll be asked to enter information about your website. Fill up all the required fields and configure the settings to suit your preference. When finished, hit Install.
Option 2: Use HostArmada’s Drag-and-Drop Website Builder
If you find the WordPress installation process too much to handle, there is another way to create a site. You can use HostArmada’s drag-and-drop website builder.
First, you’ll need to access cPanel then go to Software > HostArmada Website Builder and click it.
Clicking HostAramada Website Builder will launch it. Once you’re in, you’ll need to click Add New Site.
You’ll be redirected to a new page. From here on out, HostArmada will walk you through the whole process. The most important thing to remember is that you’ll need to choose a theme first before you can do anything else.
Once you have a theme, you’ll be able to configure all the other aspects of your website. You’ll be able to dive into all the landing pages. You’ll be able to add media files. And you’ll have the option to update the menu.
It’s that easy.
